My hobbies as a child were reading, drawing pictures, reading, writing stories, reading, daydreaming about horses, and reading. So naturally I majored in English when I got to college. In graduate school, I was disturbed by the lack of stories about horses, time travel, or magic, but I did enjoy teaching Frankenstein to my freshman composition students.
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area with my husband, son, dog, and cat. When I’m not reading or writing, I love to paint and draw–but illustrating books is something I will leave up to the experts, like the fabulously talented Felicita Sala!
