Gained in Translation!

Look what came in the mail today! The first foreign edition of She Made a Monster (or, as I call it, SMAM!)

Somehow this is almost more thrilling to see than the original book–I guess because it’s so familiar and foreign at the same time. I wish I could read it–I wonder if it was hard to translate, or easy?–but I have absolutely no knowledge of Japanese. However, in very tiny print on the copyright page, I see the English characters of a name I can read, Yumiko Sakuma, and I think she must have done the translation.

So, thank you, Yumiko! I hope you enjoyed working with my story–and I hope it’s a hit with kids in Japan!
