childrens' books, Frankenstein, Mary Shelley

Out & About

Yesterday I was in San Francisco to help out with storytime at the beautiful Charlie’s Corner bookstore, where they had a fantastic window display featuring SMAM (I love saying this abbreviation for my book title: “Smam! Smam, lovely Smam!”), and guess what, later on we walked past a different bookstore, and they had SMAM in the window too!!!

I found this supremely satisfying!

Here’s the Charlie’s Corner window. I was glad I got a chance to chat with Noelle, the artist who put this together. She goes to SF State and is studying to be an illustrator. Look how she made the monster taking shape out of the pages of Mary’s writing!
